Privacy Policy

Who we are

Gist is a fictitious name (d/b/a) of Jeannopoulos Ventures LLC, a Florida limited liability company based in Plantation, FL. We run in-person AI training classes and consulting in South Florida.

In this policy, "we," "us," and "Gist" refer to Jeannopoulos Ventures LLC.

What we collect

When you interact with Gist, we collect:

• Information you give us directly — name, email, phone number, profession or employer (if you share it), and what you'd like to learn. You provide this through the signup form on gist.school, by emailing us, by calling, or in class.
• Information we collect automatically — basic web analytics (page views, referrer, device type) via Cloudflare Web Analytics. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising networks.
• Content of messages you send us — voicemails (with automated transcription), emails, SMS messages, and WhatsApp messages you send to Gist.

We do not buy or rent personal data from data brokers.

How we use it

• To send the one-time verification code you request when signing up
• To confirm your class registration and send class reminders
• To answer your questions
• To occasionally tell you about new classes (you can opt out anytime — see below)
• To improve our classes and materials

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers.

SMS, WhatsApp, and phone communications

If you give us your phone number and check the SMS-consent box at signup, you'll receive two kinds of SMS from us. They have separate consent — you can sign up for the first kind without signing up for the second.

Transactional SMS (required to use phone signup)

• One-time verification codes when you sign up
• Class confirmations, day-before reminders, and schedule changes for classes you book

Without consenting to these, the SMS signup can't proceed. You can still sign up by email instead — email-only signups don't require any SMS consent.

Marketing SMS (optional, separate consent)

• Occasional announcements about new Gist classes (no more than two per month)

This is opt-in via a separate checkbox on the signup form. Checking the transactional consent above does not opt you in to marketing announcements; the marketing checkbox is genuinely optional, and the SMS signup proceeds the same whether you check it or not.

WhatsApp

Our class number, (561) 726-7004, also receives WhatsApp messages. If you choose to start a WhatsApp conversation with us, that's an opt-in to use WhatsApp for that conversation — the same SMS consent terms above apply (frequency, STOP/HELP, no marketing without separate opt-in). WhatsApp messages travel through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform on their way to us; Meta's privacy practices apply to that leg and are at whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Voicemail, SMS, and WhatsApp content reaches our staff inbox by email

When you call and leave a voicemail, send us an SMS, or send us a WhatsApp message, the content is forwarded automatically to [email protected] so a real person can read and respond. We use Resend as the email-delivery subcontractor for this internal forwarding. The data never leaves the three subcontractors listed below.

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to any SMS or WhatsApp message to unsubscribe from all messages of that kind from us, or HELP for help.

No mobile information, including your phone number, will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. The sharing of phone-related data is limited to our messaging subcontractors — Twilio, Inc. (SMS, voicemail, and the API layer for WhatsApp), Meta Platforms, Inc. (WhatsApp message delivery), and Resend, Inc. (forwarding inbound messages to our staff inbox by email) — and only to the extent needed to deliver these services. Each subcontractor is contractually restricted to using this information for that purpose. Service providers we use

To run Gist, we rely on a small number of third-party services. Each one processes some of your data on our behalf:

How long we keep your data

We keep your contact information for as long as you remain an active student or until you ask us to delete it. We keep payment and tax records for up to 7 years, as required by U.S. tax law.

Your rights

You can:

• Ask us what information we have about you
• Ask us to correct or update it
• Ask us to delete it (with some exceptions for tax records we're required to keep)
• Opt out of SMS by replying STOP to any message
• Opt out of email by replying to any message asking to unsubscribe

Children

Gist services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, please email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our business grows. Material changes will be announced on this page at least 30 days before they take effect. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
